The UK-Wide plastic packaging Tax came into effect on the 1st April 2022.
The Tax applies to plastic packaging manufactured or imported into the UK, containing less than 30% recycled content.
The tax is charged at a rate of £200 per tonne.

Following extensive trials we can announce that Weldbank Plastic Co Ltd can now produce our LDPE range of products, including plain and printed bags, lay-flat tubing and sheeting etc in blends containing a minimum 30% recycled waste polythene. These products are exempt from the Plastic Packaging Tax, whilst retaining full functionality, high strength and 100% recyclability
